The staple grain eaten by many people (Homo sapiens) in Southern China, Japan, South Asia and Southeast Asia is rice ( Oryza sativa ).


Oryza sativa is also made into hor fun, koay teow, sushi, sake and 米酒 (mijiu), among others.
