The
Day of the Dead 亡灵节 wáng líng jié is a Mexican 墨西哥 mò
xī gē celebration honoring Santa Muerta (Saint Death or
the Angel of Holy Death) 死亡聖神 sǐ wáng shèng shén.
Santa Muerta is believed to take the dead to Heaven. On this
day, it is common to see believers of Mexican and
Mexican-American folk Catholicism wear makeup in honor of her.
