Maotai in Mooncakes
A Mid-Autumn Festival Story
This is a story about two men, E and W, during the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2024. Or, for those who have a love of food, this festival is known to them as The Mooncake Festival.
In an eatery, E boasted that he had tasted one of the most expensive mooncakes. He marvelled at the taste of Guizhou alcohol in the delicacy he had eaten the night before.
W expressed his disdain, lamenting why producers would put alcoholic beverages and, even durians (!), in mooncakes. W then smacked his lips in satisfaction and delight as he scooped and savoured, one after another, the two Baskin Robbins ice-cream that he had on the table - The Durian King Creamy vanilla ice-cream and the Rum & Raisin.
