Making an Observation
This
is the first step of the Scientific Method.
To
observe means to look carefully at something. In the case of the Scientific Method, it is to look at the problem we wish to study.
As
an example, we look carefully at how a durian falls to the ground. In
our mind, we could ask questions such as "How does the durian
fall? That is, does it fall in a straight line?" and "Does
the durian fall faster or slower as it reaches the ground?".
