Two objects are said to be in thermal equilibrium when
o    they are in thermal contact
o    they reach the same temperature
o    there is no net heat transfer between them.

Thermal equilibrium is not dependent on the shape, size, mass and type of material of the objects.

     
Dua objek dikatakan berada dalam kesimbangan terma apabila

o    kedua jasad tersebut menyentuh secara terma
o    kedua jasad itu mencapai suhu yang sama
o    tidak terdapat pertukaran haba bersih di antara kedua jasad tersebut.

Keseimbangan terma tidak bergantung kepada bentuk, saiz, jisim dan jenis bahan kedua objek tersebut.
