
We see these colours because of reflected light. The three primary colours of pigments are Red, Yellow and Blue. (Compare these with primary colours of light.) Such colours are known as subtractive colours because they are still there after after direct light colours are absorbed (subtracted).
The combination (addition) of these three Primary Colours
