The ray of light that reaches the surface is called the incident ray.
The ray of light that bounces off the surface is called the reflected ray.
The Law of Reflection states that

Pantulan Cahaya
Cahaya bergerak lurus. Apabila sinar cahaya mengenai sesuatu permukaan, ia akan dipantulkan. Sekiranya permukaan tersebut adalah licin dan berkilat, sinar cahaya akan memantul pada sudut yang sama dengan sudut yang ia sampai. Alur cahaya yang tiba di permukaan dikenali sebagai sinar tuju. Alur cahaya yang dipantulkan dari permukaan dipanggil sinar pantulan.
Hukum Pantulan menyatakan bahawa "sudut tuju adalah sama dengan sudut pantulan".
