Polygraph Machine
This
is a machine that is used to detect lies. Although there is
opposition by some who claim that the polygraph is unreliable, the
machine is used by quite a number of countries (states) as a way to
solve crimes.
The word polygraph comes from the
prefix "poly" which means many, and
the word "graph" which means picture. The reason the machine is named
that way is that it records many physiological changes at the same time.
Among others, the changes in the physiological processes include
sweating, blood pressure and heartbeat.
Mesin Poligraf
Poligraf merupakan mesin yang digunakan untuk mengesan dusta
(pembohongan). Walaupun terdapat pembangkangan terhadap keberkesanan
mesin ini, ia masih digunakan oleh banyak negara (kerajaan) dalam
proses menyelesaikan kes-kes jenayah.
Nama poligraf
berasal dari dua perkataan - poli yang bermaksud banyak dan graf yang bermaksud gambar.
Mesin ini merekodkan banyak perubahan dalam proses-proses fisiologi
termasuk pengeluhan, tekanan darah dan denyutan jantung.
