The phrase "I think therefore I am" is the English
translation of the famous words of the philosopher Descartes. The
original Latin
phrase is "Cogito ergo sum". The simplified explanation of
the phrase is: "If a person is able to think, then he exists. If he
doubts his own existence, then he is actually thinking - and
therefore, it means he exists. Thus, doubting one's existence does
not makes sense."
The photos here are of the sculpture of the distorted version of the
original "I think therefore I am" statue. The sculptor wants to
convey the message of the negative effects of climate change. At the
base of this sculpture are the words: Agony by human beings
faced with the climate change.
The sculpture is located in the G-Tower of the Songdo International
Free Economic Zone in South Korea.
