Ciqikou Ancient Town 磁器口古镇 cí qì kǒu gǔ zhèn is one of the numerous examples in China 中 国 zhōng guó that demonstrates the symbiotic nestling of old towns in bustling cities. It, like the other old towns (see also Guandu Ancient Town 官渡古镇 guān dù gǔ zhèn), exemplifies the harmonious blending of tradition and modernity. Ciqikou Ancient Town 磁器口古镇 cí qì kǒu gǔ zhèn is located on the bank of the Jialing River 嘉陵江 jiā líng jiāng in the Shapingba District 沙坪坝区 shā píng bà qū of Chongqing 重庆市 chóng qìng shì. The construction of this old town began during the Song Dynasty and thrived through the Ming and Qing dynasties.
