Fuxi 伏羲 is one of
The
Three Noble Kings三皇sān
huáng.
He is worshipped as the founder of good governance. In
addition, he is also revered for showing the ways to
write, trap (hunt) and fish. He is believed to have created the
Eight Trigrams 八卦 (set of symbols that represent the
relationships between Nature and Humans).
Fuxi 伏羲 is commemorated, among other sites, in the district
of Qinzhou 秦州区 in
Tianshui City 天水市, Gansu 甘肃 province. Tianshui is the birthplace of Fuxi 伏羲. A
five-day memorial service is conducted here
in the Fuxi Temple 伏羲庙 during Spring 春.
