Skiing
This
is a sport, or a leisure activity, carried on snow during winter.
People who ski are called skiers. They wear boots and runners
(called skis). The bottom of the skis are flat and when pressed
onto the surface of the snow create a thin layer of water (melted
snow). The
thin layer of water reduces friction
and thus makes movement on snow fast and smooth.
Aktiviti ini dilakukan atas salji pada musim sejuk. Peluncur atau pemain ski memakai papan ski yang apabila menekan pada permukaan salji mencairkannya. Lapisan nipis air (salji yang telah cair) mengurangkan daya geseran dan ini membolehkan pemain ski meluncur dengan laju.
