Javelin
The objective of this track and field
event is to throw a javelin (light spear) as far as possible from a
chalked line. The participant is allowed to run a distance up to the
chalked line before hurling the javelin.
The history of javelin dates back to ancient Greece when the Greek army
would spend considerable time practising throwing their spears.
Lembing
Tujuan acara balapan dan padang ini adalah untuk melontarkan lembing
sejauh yang mampu dari garisan kapur.
Peserta dibenarkan berlari sejarak sehingga garisan kapur sebelum
merejamkan lembing.
Sejarah lembing bermula pada zaman Yunani purba apabila angkatan
tentera negara tersebut meluangkan masa berlatih melemparkan alat
tersebut.
