Ripple Tank
A ripple tank is an apparatus that is
used to study the behaviour of waves, namely
o reflection,
o refraction,
o diffraction
and
o interference.
The bright spots formed on the sheet of white paper represent the crest
and the dark spots represent the troughs.
A
linear or plane bar connected to a motor creates straight waves while a
bob creates circular waves.

Tangki riak merupakan perkakas yang digunakan untuk mengkaji
sifat-sifat gelombang seperti
o pantulan
o pembiasan
o pembelauan
o interferens.
Bahagian-bahagian cerah yang dilihat pada helai kertas putih
mewakili puncak gelombang dan bahagian-bahagian gelap pula
mewakili palung gelombang.
Suatu
bar lurus menghasilkan gelombang- gelombang satah manakala suatu
bebola "bob" menghasilkan gelombang-gelombang bulat.
