a sudden and unexpected negative event. A crisis - a time
of extreme danger, difficulty or trouble - usually happens
in unforeseeable or unpredictable circumstances. As a
result of being abruptly thrown out of the norm, people
are often caught unprepared and could react
inappropriately.
