A gap year is a break that one takes
before or after university. It could refer to the year after one
has graduated from high school (before enrolling at a college /
university). It could also refer to the year after one has
graduated from university (before one starts his/her career). Many of the benefits of taking a
gap year are similar to the reasons why holidays are necessary.
