Madness, mayhem, erotic vandalism,
devastation of innumerable souls - while we scream and perish,
History licks a finger and turns the page.

Attractions
Our next destination was Ayutthaya,
a historic city in Thailand
and also a UNESCO
World Heritage Site. The many headless (and some
armless) statues of Buddha that peppered the grounds of this ancient
capital stay etched in mind.
Cultural vandalism had existed long before the Taliban destroyed the
Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan. It goes to show that throughout the
history of mankind, there are those who build and there are those
who destroy. Even within a species, members reside at different
rungs of the evolutionary ladder. Yet, some of us have the temerity
to elevate one species over another.
From a place
of ruins that
is steeped in
history, we
would continue
on our journey
further north
to a city
renowned for
its beauty.
