West Lake Hangzhou
The West Lake of Hangzhou,
(Province: Zhejiang) China,
is
reputed for its beauty and cultural
significance. Many Chinese writings,
poems and songs make references to this
scenic lake; among them the many
talented statesman of the Northern
Song Dynasty,
Su
Dongpo. The lake and its
surrounding hills make up the "West Lake
Cultural Landscape of Hangzhou" which is
a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
