1) fermentation of glucose

C₆H₁₂O₆ → 2 C₂H₅OH + 2 CO₂

2) addition of alkene

C₂H₄ + H₂O → C₂H₅OH

catalyst: phosphoric (V) acid
temperature: 300⁰C
pressure: 60 Atm
