
| What to do / Where to Go Proclamation of Independence Memorial Previously
known as Melaka Club, the building now commemorates the moment when
Malaysia's first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman proclaimed the
country's independence Padang Pahlawan in 1957. Today, the building
acts as a museum, displaying articles, pictures, official attires and
even cars used during
the proclamation of independence of 1957. There are various exhibits,
in the form of relics, manuscripts, video tapes, film and slide shows.
For history lovers, this is a perfect place to gain more valuable
knowledge.
