Christ Church Melaka
Christ
Church was first built in 1753 by the Dutch as a reformed church. This
church was built as a place of worship as they did not have any church
for themselves apart from the small chapel built by the Portuguese on
St. Paul Hill (St. Paul Church).
Christ
Church was later converted to an Anglican church by the British.
It is the oldest functioning Protestant church in Malaysia. The church
can be easily distinguished from its surrounding buildings as it is
painted with coral red and has a huge white cross at the centre of its
front wall.
