Twitter is an example of a social media apps (application). By logging into a Twitter account, users can compose and share their "tweets" with their followers in real time.
Tweets (messages) can be in the following:
o text (up to 140 characters)
o photos
o videos
Besides composing tweets, users can also
o re-tweet a message (with the option of adding their thoughts) to their followers,
o comment on a tweet and join the conversation,
o favourite a tweet to inform the author that the message is liked
o hashtag # to assign a topic to a tweet.
Users who tweet are sometimes called "tweeters".
