Index (Meaning 1)
The word "index" has several meanings. One of them is indicator or measure. For example, a national crime index measures how safe a country is.
The plural for index is indices or indexes. Examples of other indices used in Malaysia are the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index (stock index), Consumer Price Index and Key Performance Index, or Indicator (KPI).
Nombor atau kadar indeks memberikan petunjuk atau ukuran. Sebagai contoh, kadar indeks jenayah seluruh negara memberi gambaran betapa selamat sesebuah negara. Contoh-contoh nombor indeks yang digunakan di negara Malaysia termasuk indeks pasar saham, indeks harga pengguna dan Petunjuk-petunjuk atau Indeks Prestasi Utama.
