Remote
sensing 遥感 yáogǎn gathers (acquires)
data 数据 from a
satellite 卫星
that orbits the
Earth 地球 , or from
a sensor / sensing device that is far away. This is why
the name has the word remote 遥 yáo. The data 数据
that is transmitted by remote sensing devices is
almost always in
digital 数字化
form.
