Syawal
Syawal (also spelt Shawwal) is the 10th lunar month of the Islamic calendar. In Malaysia, the Conference of Rulers gives consent that the date of Hari Raya Puasa (also known as Hari Raya Aidilfitri / Eid ad-Fitr or Id-Ul-Fitr) be fixed based on the sighting of the Syawal moon and calculations. Once determined, the Keeper of the Rulers' Seal will announce the date of the Muslim celebration. Among others, Hari Raya Puasa is a celebration that marks the end of the 9th lunar month called Ramadan. Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan.
