This iconic building Down Under (Australia) is situated on Bennelong Point, where the indigenous Gadigal clan once lived before they were expelled by European settlers. The aboriginal name of Bennelong Point is Tu-bow-gule (where waters meet). The construction of this spectacular building -- well known for its sail-like structures -- was mainly funded by a State Lottery. The Sydney Opera House was opened in 1973.

Today, this building with an Expressionist Modernism architectural style, hosts performing arts and other events throughout the year.
