Curry
Note: the phrase "to
curry
favor/favour" bears the meaning of "to try to advance
oneself through the act of flattering (pleasing by showering
compliments)".
Curry is the name given to a sauced dish cooked with red and/or
green chillies, leaves of the curry tree, curry powder and spices.
Curries can be dishes of meat, vegetables or a combination of both
(meat and vegetables). Curry is usually eaten with rice. Curry
noodles (such as the one shown below) is a standalone dish that is
normally eaten without the accompaniment of rice. Among the countries known for
their curries include - but are not limited to - India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia,
Thailand,
Indonesia,
Vietnam
and Japan.
